I've been reading a little Neitzsche and I completely agree with him that philosophers are pompously and incorrectly claiming pursuit of "the truth" for it's own sake. We're being deceived that people are peddling "truth" when they are likely serving their own interests. We shouldn't be fooled.<br /><br />I suspect that the main motivations for moral persuasion are status seeking and self interest.
